Last minute choice as I was living work and looking for lunch date with husband. I didn't read reviews only that it was nearly 5* place. I met husband at a parking lot and we were both shocked thinking we are in a wrong place. Entrance has nice plants and high end clothing for sale. We proceeded to be seated inside then went to check place out while order being prepared.
Outdoor space is amazing with swings and climbing structures as well as arcade - most $1 and .50. There is three Pinball machines and putt putt.
Husband got a burger stacked with pork and meat and I got Montie Christo. Lunch size was just right. There is kids menu and they offer gluten free buns for burger.
Overall, we plan to return with our kids. -

I gotta say, I didnt want to like this place. I turned my nose up at eating here because its inside a garden center type store. So I thought that was weird and not my thing.
But. ... the food was great, as was the bloodymary I ordered. One of the better ones I've had in the VB area. In fact, all the cocktails here were great.
Despite digging my heels in about eating here, I'm glad we did. -

Sage Kitchen is a hidden gem down in Pungo area. They had a wait time of 30minutes but I didnt mind because I wanted to check out the plant nursery. After 20 minutes we were buzzed for our table. My boyfriend and I sat outside where the scenery was really nice. They had a kids playground outside which was pretty cool.
On to the food, I got the crab cake with fried macaroni n cheese on the side and my boyfriend got the tragermeister sandwich with fries as the side. My crab cake was tasty but I definitely had better crab cake at other places. The fried macaroni cheese was pretty good but I really wish I tried the fried pickles instead. My boyfriend was not really impressed with the sandwich that he ordered and he barley finished it. Overall the experience was nice. The scenery and aesthetic of the place is definitely worth the drive. My experience was pleasant and I want to give this place another try! -

I visited Sage for the first time this afternoon for lunch. I was excited to try something new, especially after reading over the menu. My Sup recommended the 'Melty Grilled Cheese'. It looked amazing; she loves it. I opted to try the 'Bella' grilled chicken wrap. The wrap came with grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, sundried tomato, asiago and mozzarella cheese, pesto and red onion. For an additional $1.99 I upgraded my side to fresh cut fries. Totally worth it. Both plates came out piping hot. It was a great meal. I can't wait to go back.
Update: Returned and had a bowl of the tomato bisque recently. OH MY. If only I could buy this in a large container... to freeze for myself whenever I want a good tomato soup... it's delicious. The end. -

12/23 update: ordered their Moroccan bowl and added salmon and it was over priced AND over cooked, AND far from appetizing Yikes. 10/10 will not order again.
10/17 update: experienced great customer service, they were less willing to make substitutions and changes to entrees in order to meet dietary restrictions
Original review: I was a bit skeptical as we arrived, seeing as Sage seems to be inside a store called "Anderson's." Once you walk through the store you'll see a small hostess stand in the back right corner of the store, this is where Sage begins. It's a fully equipped restaurant, with an open style. As you are walked back to your seats, you'll see a bar to your right and a full view into their modern kitchen.
We started with an açaí bowl served more like ice cream, than your typical smoothie bowl. It was topped with sun flower seeds, a nut mixture, quinoa, blueberries, pineapple, and shaved coconut. My mom ordered a Moscow mimosa, and while she said it was tasty and had hints of grapefruit, she didn't see herself ordering it again (dad didn't have any probjections to finishing it).
We tried 4 different meals. My dad, used their creative "build your own burger" menu option and received a masterpiece with their signature "Pungo Tuck Beef." His burger came with a side and he got their shoestring potatoes, extra thin and crispy French fries. He said he would give his meal two thumbs up! My boyfriend ordered their shrimp tacos, and said they were great, but be weary if you aren't a fan of spicy foods because they pack a serious kick! My mom ordered the club quesadilla, stuffed with chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese and a ranch dip on the side. She selected their tomato bisque soup as her side, and she said it was "out of this world." I ordered their coconut curry bowl and added fresh avocado to it. It was delicious and had just enough spice. I do wish they offered tofu as a protein substitute, but other than that I have no complaints!
We received good customer service and we'll definitely be back.
